Continuing Professional Education & Community Education Programs

Providing accessible, quality education for health practitioners in rural areas is an AHEC priority. Health practitioners may not have the benefit of a local provider network and therefore find it difficult to access resources necessary for continued professional development. The Northcentral AHEC addresses these needs by providing information services and high-quality, continuing professional education, including Continuing Medical Education (CMA) Category I programs locally. Many Continuing Professional Education Programs are offered via satellite downlink. This enables health professionals to participate in a live, interactive broadcast concerning a wide range of topics. The Northcentral AHEC has developed an extensive Satellite Downlink Network throughout the ten county region.
