Our Mission

The MISSION of the Northcentral Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center is to help communities meet their primary health care needs by facilitating the recruitment, retention, education and training of providers.

The Center became a not-for-profit corporation on July 1, 1995.

Cooperating Medical School

Each Pennsylvania AHEC region has a cooperating medical school which works with the region. Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is the cooperating medical school for the Northcentral AHEC. Dr. Harry Morris, D.O., M.P.H., Chair of Family Practice, is the Medical School Liaison for the Northcentral AHEC. Visit their web site at www.pcom.edu

Funding

Funding for the Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center Program is provided by the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The Commonwealth's Medical Community and Communities at Large provide additional support.
